In His Wakes Ministries will award a $500 academic scholarship to a junior participant of the 16th Junior Masters, May 23-24, in Pine Mountain, Ga. An invitation to apply for this scholarship is being issued to all qualified junior water ski and wakeboard competitors. This is the second annual Junior Masters In His Wakes Scholarship. The Masters Steering Committee has released the qualifications criteria and list of invitees to the 49th Masters Water Ski & Wakeboard Tournament and the 16th Junior Masters Water Ski & Wakeboard Tournament, to be held May 23-25 at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Ga. USA Water Ski is proud to announce that online event registration is now available. Any local organizing committee (LOC) that sanctions a tournament online has the option to utilize online registration for a minimal $15 fee per tournament. The system is currently limited to three-event water ski tournaments, but will be expanded to include other disciplines in the future. The Qualifications and Procedures ( revised as of 3/21/2008) for the 2008 U.S. 17 to 20 Water Ski Team and the 2008 U.S. Junior Water Ski Team are now available to download from the Athletes' Resources section of the Web site. The teams will be selected based on performances at the 2008 U.S. Water Ski Team Trials, June 28-29, in Van Wert, Ohio. In an ongoing effort to carry professional water skiing to a wider audience, MasterCraft Boat Company has announced it is bringing back the MasterCraft Pro Water Ski Tour (PWST). The 2008 MasterCraft PWST will consist of six professional water ski events and will culminate on Sept. 13 with the 21st U.S. Open Water Ski Championships, presented by MasterCraft, under the lights at Downtown Disney in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. USA Water Ski is trying to develop a cable water ski team for the 2008 Cable Water Ski World Championships.
