2014 Can Am Challenge This Weekend

Top water ski athletes from the United States and Canada will compete Saturday and Sunday in the 7th Can Am Challenge at the Lake of Dreams in Jerseyville, Ill. The annual event features Under 13 and Under 17 teams from the United States and Canada competing for team titles only.

Volunteers Needed For 35+ Worlds

The 35+ Water Ski World Championships will be held Oct. 8-12 at Sunset Lakes in Groveland, Fla. With nearly 400 water ski athletes competing on two lakes over five days, the local organizing club is seeking volunteers. Areas of need include dock starters and trick video operators.

AWSA Jump Ramp Surface Notification

A request was issued to AWSA Technical Committee Co-Chair Jerry Jackson from IWWF Tournament Council Chair Bob Corson to investigate ramp modifications/designs using a formed lip/curve to enhance skier performances. Per AWSA Rule 1.12 and 9.16(5), all jump surfaces are to be FLAT. Any jumps built or modified with a design lip or curve surface with the intent to enhance skier performances must be restored back to a flat surface prior to the site’s next tournament.

Krueger Wins London Night Jump Title

U.S. athlete Freddy Krueger (center) won the 2014 London Night Jump. Ryan Dodd (right) and Rodrigo Miranda (left) placed second and third, respectively.U.S. water ski athlete Freddy Krueger (Winter Garden, Fla.) won the 2014 London Night Jump on Sunday at Liquid Leisure Boat & Cable Park in London, England. Krueger jumped 217 feet (66.3 meters) in edging Canada's Ryan Dodd (217 feet/66.2 meters) by one-tenth-of-a-meter.

Krueger Wins Jump Title At Stokes Pro Am

Freddy Krueger soared 234 feet on Thursday to win the 2014 Stokes Pro Am in England.U.S. water ski athlete Freddy Krueger (Winter Garden, Fla.) won the men's jumping title Thursday at the 2014 Stokes Pro Am, sponsored by John K. Phillips Group, at Hazelwood Ski World in Thorpe on the Hill, England. Krueger won with a distance of 234 feet/71.4 meters.
